Kinya,

Can you tell me a good source for official Hohner-made reedplates?  I need to find a blow reedplate for a B-Flat Crossover.  I did a Google search and found a place called CShop under wwww.hohnershop.com, but I don't know how legit they are.

Do you have anyone to recommend?

Hi, good to hear from you.

www.hohnershop.com is absolutely legit and the correct source for purchasing factoy Hohner parts.

Also keep in mind, that all of the Hohner Marine Band family of harmonicas, including: Marine Band Deluxe, Crossover, Thunderbird, Special 20, Golden Melody, and the new Rocket--share the same reeds.

This means, you may have "donor" harmonicas lying around that you can harvest good reeds from. For example, a D-pitch reed of the same length and width can be found in four different harmonicas:

  • A-harp/5-draw/D pitch
  • Bb-harp/5-draw/D pitch
  • Eb-harp/3-draw/D pitch
  • HG-harp/3-blow/D pitch

Your Harpsmith, Kinya
