Hello Kinya,

I have another "cover plates" related question but I have decided to post it in a new thread this time.

So this is my dilema. I have this Hohner meisterclasse harmonica, that I am really happy with.

There is just one quite annoying part, that may sound funny but it really bothers me.

The upper coeners of the cover plates are not completely sealed and quite often if I play unshaved, mystache hairs get caught in there snd I get unvoluntery mostache depilaiton that is rather painful.

It happens to me with other models as well, but with that harmonica it happens extremely often.

I am attaching a pic of one of the harmonicas' corners for better visualization.

Can you please write me what options I have to "tuck them in" or fill them with something to prevent more depilaiton from happening :) ??

Thanks in advance!

Hi Angel, are you handy with

Hi Angel, are you handy with solder? If not, this will be a good time to learn. Build up the corner, then file and sand to shape to your comfortable satisfaction.

Hi Angel, if you're not

Hi Angel, if you're not comfortable with the soldering technique, I would recommend Bondo putty. My first experience with this medium was when I was restoring cars. Body shops all across the land have Bondo in their magic chest:

Hello Kinya!I have decided

Hello Kinya!

I have decided to revive this topic with an additional question.

I have been using a plastic putty solution to seal all those gaps on all my harps for a while now. All and all its a great solution.

The problem I am facing is that the seals often break when I am dissasembling the harps for maintenance.

Would you happen to know of a more durable non toxic solution to thqt dilema?

Thanks in advance!

Good to hear from you

Good to hear from you Angel.

My advise is to--before you apply the Bondo--apply some type of a "mold release" (used in fiberglass work) onto the surfaces that you do not want the Bondo to adhere to.

An alternative might be to lay a thin layer of wax paper between the two surfaces before applying the Bondo.

Hi Angel, also consider using

Hi Angel, also consider using furniture wax or PAM cooking spray (made with Canola Oils) as a release agent.
