hello Kinya, I have an enquiry from a client who has broken a reed in his SBS 365.

I know these harps have extra long reeds in the low octave, but im wondering if the rest of the slots match up with the 10 hole marine band. Particularly, can I replace a reed from slot 11 on the 365 with an 8-slot reed from a marine band?

regards, Dave

Hi Dave, This response just

Hi Dave, This response just in from Richard Sleigh,

"... nope. They are Knittlinger reeds - different widths, etc - MS series diatonics, auto valves, new 270 chromatics have the Knittlinger reeds." Thanx Richard.

Thank you very much.

Update

Just an update on the above: I needed to replace an 11-slot reed in the 365. I tried my spare hohner MS reed-plates, but found the reeds are too wide. I measured up my CX12 and found the chamber 11 slots do matchup with the 365...but I don't have appropriate spares and customer needs his harp back asap.

i remembered that there are some fairly close matches with hohner MS and Lee Oskar reeds, so checked my Lee Oskar spares. Lee Oskar 9 slot is correct width and just a few thou longer than the 365 reed. It was very easy to trim and the reed works perfectl. Installed with the Lee Oskar rivet, but of course a screw would've been just as good...I just like to use my new Richard Sleigh rivet tool ;)
