I got a harptrain 10 on a trade, I had not tried it before I traded it, I had read about it, so I gave it a try. I played it, and the speaker was breaking up ok, but, there was a hollowness sound coming from the cabinet, I had some 10" speakers lying around, so I pulled off the back and went to work, here are my thoughts. The speakers I tried: Eminece lil buddy, Eminence Ram Rod, and Eminence Red Fang. Result: lil Buddy, not good for this amp, RamRod, breaks up ok, too clean, Red Fang, great! Everything came together to bring out the best in the amp, break up, clear notes, the hollow sound vanished, and loud as hell. If you start swapping out speakers, don't unscrew the 4 screws with the chrome washers, (that holds the guts), the bottom panel does not come off easily, so I left it on, I swapped a few 6L6's, but the Ruby tube is just fine. all mics sounded great thru the amp.

Hi SP45

I took advantage of the Memorial weekend special and purchased the Harp 10 with upgraded tubes and a side order of speaker. The order arrived yesterday and I am looking forward of test driving the new gear. In addition, I own many Lone Wolf pedals, and will connect those as well. Stay tuned.

It's surprising how much

It's surprising how much difference speakers can make.

Special45, did you use a Red Fang Alnico, or the RF10C Ceramic version?

Harp Train speaker swap

That would be the Eminence Red Fang RF10C (tenderized from Dale), Ceramic 8 ohm 50 watts.
