Hi David:

I have a question about the Bending Exercises for Level 7A (Half Steppin' Bending Exercise). You are playing on a Bb harp, but you are showing all of the bends in your graphics in the C harp, even though you are clearly playing in Bb.  When I play along in Bb using HarpNinja in Bb, the note names don't match. I am starting to work on getting the full chromatic range in holes 1 thru 4. Slow progress. Perhaps my HarpNinja Settings are wrong?!

Many thx, John C

Hello John. You're correct

Hello John. You're correct that I'm using the Bb Harmonica in the Key of F and that I use notation that shows a C Harmonica played in the key of G (all of my lessons are this way).

Did you set your harp ninja to Bb harmonica.

Bb harp in Harp Ninja-- yes!

Hi David:

Yes I have Bb harp specified under Settings/Harp Key and also Bb for the Display Key. What I don't see is how you get the HarpNinja harmonica display showing the harmonica lay out in C when you are playing in Bb in that segment of the L7A Half Steppin' exercise.  If you showed the HarpNinja read out in Bb, then I'd understand what you are doing ...

I realize that all of the tunes are shown in C (played in 2nd posision G). I have no problem w that. (Separate issue, or non-issue).

Follow up: Everything in L5M is fine, music not. in C, HN in A

In lesson L5M on the 3 hole rule, everything seems fine. You are on A harp, and the Harp Ninja screens are in Key of A.

Hello John. Harp Ninja will

Hello John. Harp Ninja will only show you on the key that you’re playing… use that as your reference, you don’t need it to be on a C harmonica, the degrees are the same.
