Well, I was sailing a little sailboat today and got it stuck on some shallow rocks (yep, that was dumb!). Had to jump in to push it off, and I forgot my harp was in my pocket, so it got a little bath. should I take off the plates or do anything special, or will it air dry fine on it’s own? Thanks so much!

Salt water?

If the water was salt water and comb isn't wood, I'd rinse it out to prevent any corrosion from the salt.

Salt Water

I used to do a lot of diving, and after every dive, we'd just rinse out our gear in freshwater to prevent corrosion and salt buildup.  I'd suggest taking the harp apart and rinsing everything thoroughly.  If the salt has dried then leave the metal parts in the water to dissolve the deposits, don't be tempted to put the harp under a fast running tap as this may put undue stress on the reeds.  As for the comb, it depends what it's made of, plastic or sealed wood can just be given a quick rinse.  Unfinished wood may be more of a challenge to clean without causing more damage.

Thank you so much for the

Thank you so much for the replies. Looks like I am lucky it was a lake and not a salty sea. It‘s a Special 20, so no wooden comb.
