Hello Harp Techs
HARP TECH Study 4 "reed gapping" is up and running! The focus is on the essential skills--both occasional (L1) and serious (L2)--required to personalize your harmonica to match your playing style.

Don't hesitate to correspond with me on this forum when a technique(s) require clarification.

Your Harpsmith,
Kinya

Kinya... I found your Study

Kinya...

I found your Study #4 video very helpful! A lot of ah-ha moments for me! Question about documentation: I think that is a great idea for one... should I expect gapping to vary from key to key? Would my G gap the same as my C harp?

Another question: Reed types, stainless vs brass would gapping be different between the two types?

Thank you for making those powerfully informative vids!

Cole

Hello Cole I'm pleased you

Hello Cole
I'm pleased you found the Harp Tech studies useful.

Yes to all your questions! I recommend starting with the recommended settings that I gave you, then "customize" it by decreasing or increasing the individual reed gaps. Once you become satisfied with a particular setting, then assign it to a document specific to that harmonica (brass vs stainless steel ... low vs high tuned).

Your Harpsmith,
Kinya
