Hello Alan. Follow the study

Hello Alan. Follow the study songs on the site (for you, the Tongue Blocking and Bending study songs), they will provide you with the technique and vocabulary (the licks) needed to learn how to solo/improvise.

Your first step is mimicry... learning note-for-note these songs. After you have memorized five study song (Walk with Me, Temperature, Feelin' for the Blues, Take It Easy Now, and Gary's Blues) you'll have enough vocabulary to start the improvising process.

At that time, start Improvising Study 1 and continue that series... this will teach you the art of improving in the blues.

After you have studied how to improvise in the blues, you can then study rock and country music (you will have the technique and vocabulary to study those styles of music).
