Harmonica Solo Study 1 question

Hi Dave:

Exercise 1.4,  when i play the one-two draw is that puckered or Tongue Blocked. Do I cover holes 3 and 4 with my tongue?

Answer

Hello John. When you're chording like this (sometimes called chugging) your tongue is off the harmonica. Take a look at Ex. 7. In this example your tongue stays off the harmonica for the first three beats and then goes on the harmonica to play the last beat (2+ 3+ 2+ for bar one and 4+ 3 for bar two). Fee free to ask whenever you're not sure.
