Hi,

I have recently joined the site and I see that you recommend a harmonica in key A. I have already Special 20 in key C, however, I decided to go with a harp in key A. I bought a budget Fender Blues Deluxe in key A. Well, it is very hard for me to get a sound on the 1, 2, or even 3 hole (either blowing or drawing). I do not have such an issue on my Special 20 in C (occassionally I have an issue with hole 2, though, especially when I play a while).

I have a little experience with harps - I have two diatonic ones in C, and one chromatic. And I can get clean single notes on them. Is playing A harmonica much more difficult than in C? Or basically, is something wrong with the instrument, i.e., my Fender Blues Deluxe in A?

Thanks!

MG

Thanks. I do not have such issues on C, and another A harmonica.

Hi David. Thanks, I watched a video a few times. It was useful. I do not have such issues with my Special 20 in key of C, and I can also draw fairly ok on harmonica of key A of a different brand. So I guess there is some kind of disagreement between me and that cheap Fender key of A (I ordered the second one but the issue still remains). Until I will not get the right technique, I will stick with the brand I can get notes right out of the box. Thanks!
