Hi.

I was checking into some harp music and came across this:

History Of The Blues Harmonica Concert by David Barrett & Dennis Gruenling Joe Filisko

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Ddigital-music&field-keywords=harmonica+history+of+the+blues

I took the liberty of posting the hyper-link to both share this with others.

This is album phenomenal, fantastic and great!  I really think you should further promote  this more to the students and members of this website.   I thought the introductions were really great as it gave us more insight to the music, not to mention the awesome harp playing that you guys did.  Truly educational and inspirational!

I would love for you guys to put out some more like this (I know you put a lot of work into it – that is obvious).

If not another album with you guys playing, I would suggest perhaps an album where you are giving intro’s to the various pieces (history of the musician, nuances of the song and things to notice), of the various harp players – just a thought.

           Thank you for your time

                             Steve

Cheers for the heads up

I've purchased the album off iTunes and have been listening to the album for about a week now.

Im loving it! And it's giving me info on harp players of the past that I want to have a look in more detail at.

Wish they would do another

In addition to to being good tunes...I liked the information given preceeding the songs...that added another layer of appretiation.

Some other older CD's/Downloads along this type: No narrative, but good historical perspective

- Classic Harmonica Blues from Smithsonian - from Smithsonian Folkways

- Harp Attack

- Harmonica Blues Great Harmonica Performances of the 1920s and '30s

Cheers

I've got Harp Attack and love It!

I havent heard of the other two, but I'll go have a look into them.

I have just downloaded David's 'it takes three'. I'm not through my first listen to the album yet, but I'm really liking it so far! That's for sure!
