Gasket or putty?

Hello, Greg! Could you please help me! I need to put shure CM into electrovoice 606. The gasket is not fit vell for this small mic. So is it ok to use some putty instead of gasket? Thanks!

It is OK to use a non-adhesive putty - the goal is both to provide some shock absorbtion and an acoustic seal between front and back.
