GarageBand is only for the Mac. Yes, I plan on doing a lesson on Music Creator 5. I just purchased it this week and have purchased the software (will take a couple weeks to receive) needed to do the screen recording and editing (not cheap... but you're worth it ;-). It's going to take a bit of time... I need to learn two programs to do this, but it will be done.

i hate to keep digging for info but can either of these programs be used to do video as well as i am a big fan of youtube and i've heard some stuff on there that you can tell they have added reverb somehow especially in one distinct ricci video and im a big fan of prewar and train and foxchase things and would love to record a train rythem with that nice tunnel sound and maybe a fox chase as well so i am very interestd in purchasing one just want to make sure its the right program for all of my needs i also know you have heard this many times but this is the best harmonica learning tool out thanks alot.

No worries... I'm here to help.

Neither of these programs do video. The Mac has iMovie and for the PC Adobe Elements is a real nice program at a good price.

In regards to effects... that has nothing to do with whether if it was recorded with video or just audio. They could have used effects (such as delay, reverb, or other) inline (between their harp mic and amp) or added the effects afterword, in the mixing of the music. Audio recording software general does that better video recording software. You can also record video with sound... and after loading it into your video recording software, export the audio to an audio editing program for more precise audio editing... importing it back in to your video program for the final cut. This is the most time-consuming, but results in the best finished product.

For acoustic harp (not using an amp), you most commonly will add effects in the mixdown (after you record). You can use a cheap computer mic (which aren't too bad), or most commonly, a microphone, digital audio interface for your computer and recording software. Take a look at B&H Video/Audio at http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/browse/Professional-Audio/ci/12154/N/42945... to get an example of recording bundles. You can also look at Musician's Friend at http://www.musiciansfriend.com/rec.

Lynda.com http://www.lynda.com/ is a great place to learn how to use your software well.

Best wishes on your journey!
