Hi Simmons,
I've read that the above mentioned amp is the one David encourage beginner to go for.
I would like to know how it can be used to practice with play along backing tracks... as far as I understood it has not a suitable aux in jack to be connected with an mp3 player.
What you advise, to connect it through a POd, or there are cheaper mod suitable for that porpouse?

If I'll be able to make the amp play the mp3 tracks, the sound will be distorted as well or there is a way to make it sound clean over a distorted harp?

Thank you for your kind assistance

Champ XD

Hello Dario- Thanks for writing. I assume that you are hoping to play both harmonica and MP3s at the same time through the amp. It doesn't look to me like the Champ XD has the additional input jack necessary to do it easily. I'm sure that Dave can clarify.

Hi Skip,
thank you for your prompt and kind reply.
Yes you guessed my english right, indeed it will be convinient for me to play both mp3 and harp simultaneously throught the same amp, will check if Dave may figure out a convinient way to make his student practice this way, if at all possible, and above all usefull.
thx

Mixer Board

I was trying to work out the same thing and got the suggestion of using a mixer board. Picked up a relatively inexpensive one (about $60 Cdn). It has inputs for the MP3 and a 1/4" as well as an XLR input. Levels for each can be adjusted and then the board plugs into the amp. This works well for me.

splitter jack adaptor?

Skip, if I use a jack splitter like that one:

will I blow out the amp, or it may work for the above explained goal?

Splitter

Dario- You will need to convert from a stereo mini-plug to a mono 1/4" plug. Actually, you will probably need to get two adapters; a stereo mini-plug to 2 RCA plugs, plus a Y-adapter to go from two RCA plugs to a mono 1/4". It looks to me like the unit in the picture would work, but you would also need the Y-adapter. This combines the left and right channels from the MP-3/CD player.
