Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue

Anybody blow harp through one of these?

I have the opportunity to buy one at a good price but I can't find much online info/ opinions from harmonica players.

At 22 watts, with a 12" speaker and 2 6V6's, a guitar playing friend has described it as the bigger brother of the Princeton Reverb RI, which I know gets quite positive reviews.

Any comments would be most appreciated!

I have an early model...

I have a 1952 wide panel Fender Tweed DeLuxe Reverb that I got earlier this year from a friend. I believe the DeLuxe Reverb was once considered the "Strat amp", as it was sold together with the Fender Stratocaster as a package when the guitar debuted in 1954.

I have to admit, I've been a little disappointed with the amp - not only using it with my harp, but also with my Les Paul and - of all things - my vintage Strat. Cosmetically, the amp looks great, but I think age has taken a toll on some of the internals. One of these days when I get the urge, I'm going to send it to someone like Skip Simmons to have a look-see. I'm sure all it needs is a little love and attention to get her back on her feet again. I'm getting an unacceptable amount of hum, and the amp sounds a little shallow to me.

You said the model is only 22 watts. I thought the reissue was bumped to 85 watts, but I might be thinking of a different reissue. Also, somewhere along the line, I think they replaced the point-to-point wiring with a PC board.

BTW, congrats on the 3rd place finish!

Thanks for the comments JJ. I've seen mention of a previous 40 watt model online and there may well be others but the current DRRI is defo 22 watts. I guess the proof will be in the testing for me. I run a line to the PA via my Harp Commander when I can for front of house volume, which suits me fine, but I am starting to need just a bit more than my current Pro Junior can give me on stage to hear myself on stage.
