Im going back over all the study songs to improve them.  Im finding that my standard slap is too slow.  Playing Blues Creeping over me there are some tripplets that even when the tempo is slow I find Im sluring them and not separating them.  My slaps are ok but I cant do them fast enough.  Is there a sound I shoud try to make kine "Kaa or kee"?  I dont recall.

Gary

Hello Gary. Don't use any "K"

Hello Gary. Don't use any "K" articulations... the slap does not have an articulation. To speed up your slap, don't have your tongue travel as far back (less chord and less movement will speed you up).

Lighter touch? Perhaps

Lighter touch? Perhaps practice flutters? (what I'm working on now...)  They're essentially crazy-fast slaps.

Absolutely... a light touch

Absolutely... a light touch with your lips and tongue on the face of the harmonica is essential for good tongue blocking technique (note in Blues Harmonica Fundamentals, Tongue Blocking Study 1, and the beginning lessons for Sharon and Hob, I emphasize this often).

Great idea to practice flutters.
