Your first amp

Hello Ron- That sounds good! That setup would certainly be suitable for a new player. Two thoughts: Most SM-57 mics are low-impedance and would need an inexpensive plug-in matching transformer to use with the high-impedance input of your amp. If your mic already has a 1/4" plug, you are ready to plug in, but if it has the low-impedance "XLR" type connector, you will need a matching transformer. Also at some point, a new "bullet" type mic would be a good bet in addition to the SM-57. Most people find them easier to hold and "cup" for a deeper blues tone.

New Mic

Thanks for that Skip, I haven't got a mic yet was just looking so I might just take your advise and go for a new bullet.
