at the publisher of the "for dummies" books to suggest an idea for a book, i.e., "Chromatic Harmonica for Dummies", to be authored by you?

I'm going to contact them anyway...
and I'm going to cite the 15 chromatic related books on Amazon published since 2015, and the more than half that many published since 2017, as a sign that there is a current market for a comprehensive Dummies type of book for chromatic harmonica as most of these books on Amazon are strictly jazz related.
Thanks, but I've proposed the idea before and they just don't see a market for it.
The company is John Wiley & Sons. Personnel keeps changing there, and just about everyone I've ever dealt with there has gone elsewhere – the book business is in tough shape nowadays.
