Hey all,

When I play a lot of excess saliva builds up in the harmonica, so much so that I have to tap the saliva out. Have any of you encountered this problem and how have you dealt with it?

Thanks,

That is a common problem.

It tends to be worse when you are "working too hard," (learning new techniques and songs, etc.) The most common tip that I have heard is to try to play with your neck less flexed (avoiding the harmonica "hump" position), holding your head more level, and if you can, sometimes even facing upward slightly, to get gravity working for you instead of against you.

Thanks

Thanks for the tip marcos. I have found through some trial and error that the saliva builds up when I face down. When I started tilting my head up more, this became less of a problem.

Keep on Harp Squealin'!
