...section of the forum as to what is going on with the harp, ie. what the reeds are doing when:

"David, I'm starting to have some success at bending, but when, for instance, I hold the 4 draw bend for a while, sometimes I get a really high pitched metallic screeching like feedback. Am I playing too hard, or maybe bending a little beyond, (lower), than I need to. Or maybe both. Is this what's producing this phenomenon? It sort of hurts my left ear a little."

He then wants me to report back to him

Ha 57, if it hurts your ears,

Ha 57, if it hurts your ears, how do you think your family and pets are responding?

Can you send me a sound clip, so I can assess the situation.

Luckily for them I keep the door to my music room closed

I fired up HarpNinja and noticed that I've definitely been bending further than need be. It showed way into the red. When I backed off a little and bent just enough to get into the green, the squealing ceased. I guess I've been eating more Wheaties than I should:)

fyi; it's my understanding that HarpNinja is undergoing a makeover by its creator. Unclear as to what will change.

Hi Greg, in the meantime, use

Hi Greg, in the meantime, use another "tone reference", such as; keyboard, guitar, Metronome and/or Tuner with audible pitch voicing.

Like the HarpNinja, the goal is to play a note that matches your tone engine. If you hear an occilating note (vibrating) you are out of tune ;o)
