i am working on the Strut and just one note eludes me.

For some reason I cannot get the 6 hole bend in chorus 6 measure 9. In fact that whole chorus is quite a challenge. When attempting the bend I can get it fine in a pucker embouchure but, fortunately, I have become almost exclusive TB player.

So switching just to get that note is most inconvenient. Although in attempting blow bends that's what I have to do. Any suggestions on this one problematic issue on the D harp? Lower keys for this note are not an issue.

John

Answer

Hello John. You need to use more of the front of your tongue, further forward in your mouth. Experiment with a "ch" position while trying that tongue block bend. By the way, working your 6' on the D Harmonica will help you with your blow bends too... the 8'+ is the same note on the G Harmonica.

Oh there it is !!!!

Taking all your great instructional advice, lots if practice and experimenting, today the 'sweet spot' showed itself. That is a tough one to get. Now to keep practicing it so it shows up in the strut at the correct spot.

You will know when I submit LOA4!!!

thanks for the encouragement.
