Does cupping make a big difference on the high end of the harp? I find that I dont hear much difference
when trying to cup on the high end. Maybe I am not cupping correctly when playing up there?
It definitely feels harder to me to maintain a good cup on that end.

Thanks 528hemi

Answer

Great question. No, you're right, cupping doesn't make a huge difference. This is why using slaps or octaves is important to get a fuller sound... you can play single notes, but play them strongly to get them to real sing out. To cup up more, lean the right end of the harp towards your right cheek and have your right hand cup over the right end of the harp more as well... the more of an airtight cup you can get the better. I would just suggest to use slaps and/or octaves to play a little more powerfully.
