Hello,

I have just ordered a second hand CUB 10 amp.I

If I were to replace the tubes what would you recommend?

Let me say I am not at all a gear-head, but I like experimenting :)

Another thing I wanted to ask you is if you could recommend (to your best knowledge) another 10" speaker I could find in Europe (particularly in Spain) with a comparable quality to the Weber 10A125 that Dave recommends in the amp review ?

The shipping cost of the Weber 10A125 to Spain seems to almost double it's price, so I have been wondering if I could find some comparable substitute here.

I could find here a Celestion G10 Greenback 10 inch 30-watt 8 Ohm, but since I am totaly new to this I don't know if this would be a good replacement option.

Many thanks in advance!

Hello Angel. I'll answer the

Hello Angel.

I'll answer the first question...Skip is not up on new amps.

Don't mess with the power tubes. You can experiment with the 12AX7's though. Try a 12AY7 and 12AT7. Experiment with different combinations of the three tubes and see what you like the best.

P.S., I think it sounds great the way it is.

Skip will answer the speaker question.

P.S., Celestion makes nice speakers... they sound good for harp.

Thanks for writing. I do not

Thanks for writing. I do not know what brands are easily obtainable in Spain, but a Celestion would certainly work.

You might try a different vendor like amplifiedparts.com. They offer several good brands. I think that Priority Mail to Spain would be about $50.
