Hi Greg, while installing an element in a t3, I decided to test a few I had lying around . One shure crystal that became weak after playing tested surprisingly strong, after sitting in a drawer for many years. Would a Mic silk of gortex or similar help stop the moisure?

I don't think crystals repair

I don't think crystals repair themselves. They CAN fail with intermittent bad behavior. But I've never had one get better. My understanding is that the molecular bonds of the crystal get weaker and weaker with age (and moisture). Ultimately they literally turn to powder.
