Hello all,

I jam a bunch on the no harp version of Muddy Waters Country Boy. The no harp version from the Folk Singer album that is. It's actually a great track to work those accompaniment licks. I work that one out of E.

My question is about the version with LW on harp. One of the first amplified tracks he recorded with Muddy I believe. Chess 1951ish? Maybe it's the old record, my ears, or the LW mojo but I can't grasp the key. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

SJ

Sounds like ...

F, with quick IV. Sounds as if Little Walter is in 2nd position on a Bb harp. The pitch when you listen to a recording may be a little bit off. (Tape to master disc in those days could sometimes massage the pitch a bit,) Recorded 1951, released 1952. And great stuff!
