Hello David,

I have a hard time playing properly the quarter-note (three notes in two-beats) tripletts in chorus 3 of Gary's Blues in Level 4. I watched your discussion on the topic, (not sure now where I found it), and I still don't get it. I can count and play eighth-note (three notes in one-beat) tripletts no problem, 1-&-uh, 2-&-uh etc, they are easy, intuitive. The half-note tripletts are very vague for me. I am finding myself guessing at the timing.

My problem is that this is holding me up; I am stuck on chorus 3, disatisfied with how it sounds. I just had the thought that I should go ahead and record it and send it in for your evaluation and feedback.

In the meantime please advise ifn ya can. Thanks,

Hank H

I got it

Hello again,

I went online after posting the help request for counting quarter-note triplets. After visiting a half dozen sites I found one by a sax player that filled the bill perfectly. It will still take some practice to get it dialed in but I have a handle on it, I can count them now.

His site is called: "How to Precisely Play Quarter Note Triplets", and his name is Jim Clark, saxophonist. Do a google search. I am not sure if it ok to post links here or I would do so. This is great!

Hank
