My cleartune app is proving useless for harp. I get wildly inaccurate and inconsistent readings. Side by side with my korg tuner, I can see there is no problem with the harp or my ears :) is it just mine? I dumped and reinstalled it but no change. No big deal, my korg works, but the iPhone app would have been very handy and rechargeable

cleartune

I have a similar experience with Cleartune. It will get the note eventually, but mostly the dial just spins wildly. It does work and I have used it but I'm sure there are better programs than this one. If I try to blow a 3-6 octave on a C harp, it will get the G note eventually but too slowly to be really useful.

Have you tried the 'needle

Have you tried the 'needle damping' option? Click on the 'i' (info) icon and increase the 'needle damping' option. Also holding the harp right up to the iPhone mic helps.

I also still prefer my korg though.

Yes, I tried needle damping, but it still gets quite confused between G and Bb. I've been using my old korg AT2, but I found it to be quite hard on batteries(especially when I forget to turn it off!) but a nice machine with a real needle. I just landed a new Korg CA 40 though, so I'll try that and see how we get on.
