Hi    The grill is painted so

Hi

The grill is painted so it cannot be polished. Short of repaiting it there isn't much that's likely to make it look better, as most of what is wrong is uslaly missing paint. You can clean it with a q-tip and a solvent like alcohol, or acetone or cigarette lighter fluid or goo-gone if it has more gunk. In that case I would first remove the grill from the shell and remove the silk from the inside.
