Hi David,

In the first chromatic lesson you said that the chromatic is only played with tongue blocking, never with a pucker.  I was wondering why?

Thanks

Hello vid wes. Tongue

Hello vid wes. Tongue blocking is able to do everything pucker can, and more... using the tongue block exclusive techniques (slaps, pulls, flutters, octaves, etc). The only reason we would possibly use pucker would be for a very fast articulate passage, one that use double or triple tonguing. That can be a cool effect, but you can switch embouchure for that... you'll want to have tongue blocking be your primary embouchure, simply to have more options available to you.
