Hello Kinya,

I have some trouble with the 3 draw on my 270 deluxe C chromonica.

The 3 draw (no button) started making this annoying buzzing sound.

I have opened it and carefully inspected the windsavers on the "no button" plate. The one on top of the 3 blow reed seems slightly bent (probably happened while cleaning the harp) :(

Can you suggest some quick fix or I will really need to purchase new original windsavers from hohner?

Thanks!

methods for repairing windsavers

Hey Angel, good to hear from you. Have you ever wrapped a present and did not have any bows? Instead, you opened up your shears and dragged a piece of ribbon over edge of the blade. Notice how it curled?

Staying with that concept, you can slide a thin piece of shim stock (1/16"wide x .002"/.05mm thick) between the windsaver and reed plate. Start with the shim ahead of the crease, then with slight downward finger pressue on top of the windsaver, draw back towards the free end of the windsaver. This should flatten out some of the crease and angle the windsaver to it's native position.

The best method is to replace the windsaver with new.

one more thing

If you don't have a super thin feeler guage, you can also use a small diameter sewing needle to slide under the windsaver.

Maaan it worked like a charm!!

I have the schim but the method with the needle worked much better for me.

It took some trial and error until I got the mechanics of it, but now my harp is saved with no additional lost time and cost...all thanks to YOU!!!

I Have added the needle as a part of my maintenance kit!!
