Hi David

I have just started dipping into Chromatic harmonica and I'm really enjoying it. Getting a bit ahead of myself I've been trying to play along to your "Dark Night" and without really knowing what I'm doing have found myself playing one hole splits on the draw notes for intervals of 5 or 6 semitones (if I've worked that out right). This seems to sound good, richer than a single note but not as thick a texture as a full chord. Is this a legitimate technique in a blues context? It seems like it might be a way to approximate the sound of an octave without having to dislocate your jaw.

Joel

Hey Joel. Yeah, one-hole,

Hey Joel. Yeah, one-hole, two-hole, and three-hole splits are all cool... use them. They all sound different though, so you'll want to learn them all at some point.
