Kinya, would the 6-piece mini drive pin and center punch set (85933) from Micro-Mark, be suitable for reed replacement

Yes, but make certain that

Yes, but make certain that the rivet you are removing is directly over a solid surface, with slightly larger hole (or slot) for the the spent rivet to pass through.

Ah, the mini machinist

Ah, the mini machinist anvil--a good general purpose tool to have on the bench.

p.s. remember to match your hammers to the material you are hammering, e.g. brass hammer for brass reeds, steel hammer for your steel punches, etc.

Andrew Zajac's toolkit for center punch

I'm going to order Andrew Zajac's full tool kit and USB videos at some point. His tool kit has a suitable center punch in it, along with all his other well designed, hand-fabricated tools. The punch is also available in a separate reed removal kit which is available at RockinRon's as well as on Andrew's website.

He's got a very informative website, especially his blog: http://harp.andrewzajac.ca

Also, it's my understanding that he is a Hohner Affiliated Customizer. RockinRon's carries some of Andrew's semi-customized harps.

Gonna go with Kinya's reed replacement method and tools

Andrew's full toolkit is available on his site without the reed replacement tools for a cheaper price. I'll probably order the full toolkit anyway including the reed replacement tools, but I like your reed replacement method, tools, and supplies, Kinya. Not that there is anything wrong with Andrew's approach. I just think that I'll prefer yours. I do think that I'll probably end up using a couple of the reed tools from Andrews set.
