Hi David...I'm just starting to use a bullet mic and I'm noticing that I can see a small triangle of light, right below the mic, at the far end of my cup....It's where the lower fleshy part of my palms come together....Is this acceptable when trying to get a tight seal? Thank you...

Answer

Your goal is to close that off as much as possible. Most likely the fingers of your right hand are overlapping your left more than they need to... backing off on this overlap will give your palms more of a chance to come together. An absolute seal is not needed, but get as close as you can... you can always back off if it mutes your sound too much.
