Dave, I have been haveing a hard time getting started with my chord forms, with fills. I was just going to send something to you, but I was not sure I was going the right direction. I wanted to use the forum, in case someone else, starting this part of your lessons, is haveing as much trouble as me. XXX Would I be correct if I took mesure 1 (lick 1) and measure 2 (lick 2) of Garys Blues and used that as my main theme Play that with my jamtrack, useing the G harp. Play these 2 licks a total of 3 times. For my 4 bar version (AAA) XXX For version 2 could I take the 2nd measure (lick 2), and use that as my 2 bar version? Playing it a total of six times (AA) And for my 1 bar version, maybe use 5+ 5+ 4 (on the 4 draw maybe use a scoop) and play it 12 tmes (A) ?
For my AAB I would play the same exact thing, only use Ex 3.1, for my V IV !, and turnaround. My fills would just be something I could jerk up from any previous vocabulary I can think of to fill any spaces.
sorry to make this so difficult, sometimes you got to hit me in the head ith a board to get me started, thank you for your patience Dan Fout

Answer

Hey Dan. If you're going to do AAA with fills, play bars 1 and 2 of "Gary's Blues" and make something up for bars 3 and 4. Do this for each line, a total of 3x.

If you're going to do AAA with fills, play bars 1 and 2 of "Gary's Blues" and make something up for bars 3 and 4. Do this for the first and second lines, using Ex 3.1 for your V IV I Transition and turnaround. Your fills would just be something you could jerk up from any previous vocabulary you can think of to fill any spaces.

That's it... no other versions.
