David, I watched the video on brainstruments with great interest. Was wondering if you play to a mental model and what it is? Do you think anyone can devleop a model or is it an innate ability of some musicians?

Yeah, I use my harmonica note layout (the one I use in the lessons)... always have. The more someone studies music theory on the site (music theory, accompaniment, and improvising lessons), the more vivid this becomes. Some people have a mental model that is not so theoretical... I think it's unique to each person. I think anyone can develop a mental model, but they will have to be very mindful in their practice.
