Boss TU-12BW Chromatic Tuner

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone has tried the Boss TU-12BW Chromatic Tuner for tuning harps?

They seem to be selling at a reasonable price at the moment in the UK.

I have never used the Boss TU-12BW, so can not not weigh in about it. Looking at the spec sheet, however, it appears to be a good overall chromatic tuner.

The clip on mic is not necessary for harmonica tuning, and it appears you can not set the view to read Hz--an important feature for those who tune by Hertz, rather than cents. For example, middle A4=440hz, next octave up A5=880hz.

For that reason, I will recommend my two "go to" tuning apps for smart phones:

  1. ClearTune by Bicount ltd.
  2. iStroboSoft by Peterson Tuners

Hi Kinya,

 

Thanks for the reccomendations.

I already have the cleartune app, and was waiting for the iStroboSoft for android to get the harmonica tunings.

 

The Boss tuner is being sold for £22.00 that works out to around $28.50, which seemed a bargin, although I should probably stick with the app! :)
