Howsit Skip, I just acquired a 1950s Bogen HE10 (the one with blue chassis, grey top ). I'm gonna have it restored to original spec, looking at the tube line up and schematic it should be ok for harp stock? Thanks Brian

Bogen HE10

Hello Brian- An HE10 certainly has potential, but they have a few drawbacks. First, if you take a peek inside the chassis and you will see that baby is really complicated! It is not a simple old Fender-style circuit. Second, the "tone-selector" circuit has a dramatic effect on tone, but you may find yourself wishing for a traditional circuit with a potentiometer rather the switch.

If the amp is stock, properly serviced, and running like new, it should have some awesome tones for harp, but it will still be pretty "hot" in the gain department without some mods.

Brian- Yes, those tubes ARE interchangeable. It may not make the amp perfect for you but give it a whirl!
