Hey Skip!

I recently purchased a Bogen E-10. I was really pulled in by the light switch style On\Off toggle.

The previous owner installed 1/4 jacks for the Speaker and Mic but I'm not sure how to go about switching the impedance or checking what it is. I do see the impedance selector on the back of the amp and the ground tie down but am unsure of what cable to use.

Here are some photos of the amp, the guts and the schematics.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hello SPEEDYMACH45. Speaker

Hello SPEEDYMACH45. Speaker cord for the speaker jack, plug in a mic and let 'er rip. It is probably hard-wired for 8 ohms.

Thanks Skip! I did just that and it does indeed sound great!

Are there any tube changes I could make to give me a little more headroom?

Always use speaker cable for

Always use speaker cable for speakers and shielded cable for mics or guitars. Remember, an old tube amp can easily handle a 100% mismatch with a speaker. In other words, an old Bogen with the impedance selector set to 4 ohms can be safely connected to a 2, 4, or 8 ohm cabinet, so let the good times roll!

My schematics show two 6SC7

My schematics show two 6SC7 preamp tubes. There are no "drop-in" substitution for these tubes, but plug-in adaptors are available (or build-able!) to allow the the use of 12AX7, 12AT7, 12AY7, etc.

Skip, thanks for the

Skip, thanks for the information. I do have the proper cables, and it's good to know that the amp will work with various ohm speaker cabinets. I ordered a couple adaptors for the Bogen and I have some various 12A*7 models laying around I'll test with!
