The mics I've seen were well-built and looked very cool. The volume controls I've seen on three pro player's mics and they seem to work just fine... they look very cool too. One mics I played had a wimpy element and the other one (one of their newest models) sounded much better, but I recommend you either ask (and expect to pay the price) for a vintage element, or purchase the mic as-is and replace the element yourself, or send it to a mic customizer to put a good one in for you.
