Hi David,

I'm wondering if can explain why in your Blues Jr. trial you chose to swap the preamp tube closes to the power tubes rather than the V1 tube. It seems like most of what I've read about swapping tubes in the interest of lowering gain suggests doing so with the first tube. Is there clear sense of why swap one as opposed to the other?

Thanks much. Really enjoying the amp reviews series.

Hello PM42. You're correct,

Hello PM42. You're correct, it is common to swap the first tube. It's also very common to swap the tube near the power tubes. You simply experiment and see what you like. In this case, this is what I liked.
