Hello,

can somebody give me a suggestion on where to down-load a decent blues harp sound font in .sf2 format?

There are probably plenty on the web, but why should I not ask for your kind advice before searching myself?

Thank you very much,

Razvan

Why do that?

I've never heard a harmonica sound font that sounded any good - they were usually sampled from non-players trying to breathe through a harmonica. Any why use one anyway? Fake harmonica parts always sound stupid to harmonica players and potentially shut out real players from opportunities.

don't judge me too hard

Hello Winslow,

don't judge me too hard! I never intended to offend any real harmonica player, including myself, by trying to replace him with a digital sample.

What I was trying to do:

I have a digtal piano here that I use to loop the prominent chord progressions in background while I practice AAAs and  AABs with the harp in front of it. I know, there are many much better solutions, but I happen to have this great piano, I like using it and enjoy doing so,  much more than I would like a PC program or a dedicated loop device. I could also record myself and play the recording back with a looping device of some sort. Call me old fashioned, I plead guilty, but my piano and I are good friends and I did not want to boot yet another device while practicing: us two and the harp between us is fine enough.

And I was thinking of leting the piano play behind or in front of me me in .sf2 harp tones.

But it does not have to be: I can perfectly let the piano loop the instruments he already has; plenty of them galore! Just wish I had a harp sound font among them all. But if I think hard, I could create a .sf2 file from my own playing myself... No, just kidding! Not wanting to go that far.

I will stick with what I have and please do know, that I have taken your advice to heart and thank you very much!

Yours friendly, Razvan
