Hi Dave,

Is it just me or does it seem like Jerry Portnoy is a little late on his timing in this song? Being one of the greats, I can't imagine this is by mistake. It's really throwing me off though and making me dig my heels in deep. Is this purposeful?

Yup. This is called "playing behind the beat" and is used to give a very lazy feel. I personally love that feel.

Yeah, it's awesome. Seems like some of the swamp beat guys do it a lot. It just threw me off since it's my first song (I think) "behind the beat".
