David Hi

A query re The Big One

Verse 7   measures 3 and 4. At the end of measure 3 there is the octave 4  8   (a quarter note b ).  This is the  ”Tied”  to the same octave in measure 4, therefore  two quarter notes, a half note. When I listen to it  it sounds like two distinct “quarter notes” are being played rather than an extended note for half note.  Wonder what I am getting wrong my listening or understanding?

Thanks

Hello John. What you're

Hello John. What you're probably hearing is my tremolo. I listened to it and I'm hearing that I'm playing it tied, as written.

Thank you

Thank you. I think it's the emphasis on the end of the note/tremolo that I am hearing. It's a tricky little lick. Making very good progress. Thanks

Got It

David got it. Wasnt applying the tie. There is a lot going on in this song with fake octavea and then octaves all in one lick. Really have to read the score and listen carefully not just rely on what I think I hear.  Very satisfied.

Into the diatonic verses

Thanks

Cool. This is a very advanced

Cool. This is a very advanced song, but well-worth the study... there are some very cool, and classic, licks in there (especially the diatonic solo).
