Hello Everyone, I hope you are enjoying our new video series; HARPSMITH Bench. David and I endeavor to provide you with new episodes every two weeks. I'm a day early on Ep 5, "The Big Cover Up" because it is one of my favorite harmonica topics. Hiding in plain site, the harmonica cover plates. You are going to love the things you will be able to do with your collection of harmonicas. Enjoy!

There's more!

p.s. Reviewing my video in post, I noticed that I forgot to mention the most notable feature of the vented cover plates. For the Player, the vents act like "near field monitors". This is especially beneficial when the harmonica is played acoustic, the Player will be able to hear themselves better than harmonicas with non-vented cover plates.

Turbolid Covers Shown in Video

Kinya - in the video you show the Turbolid and I think quickly mention modifications you made to it.

I just ordered a turbolid to try with special 20 set up and am curious to find out what modifications you made to the turbolid and why you made them? I'm hoping the turbolid covers will help with cupping the harp since I have arthritis in my hands.

Thanks.

Turbo Lid

Hello and Thank You for joining us. I regret learning about your arthritis. Many players who use the Turbo Lid find it more comfortable than the stock Hohner Special 20 cover plates.

The Turbo Lid shown in Episode 5 was apart of the Sotto Voce 2.0 practice harp system.

Thank you Kinya. I knew it looked somewhat different than just the turbolid alone, but thought maybe you modified a stock turbolid.
