Hello Mr. Barrett,

I bought my first blues harmonica few days ago, and it is a C harmonica. I have a problem that when I draw the 1,2 or 3 hole, I will play the note with bends. For example, in hole 1, I want to play D by drawing but I always got a note which is lower and sometimes it just gets straightly to Db. I just cannot get the natural D sound when I draw from the hole 1 unless I draw very soft. It is the same problem at the holes 2 and 3, I cannot get the drawing G and B. When I draw the chord from the holes 1,2,3 and 4, I can just get a wierd sound. I would like to know how can I solve this problem.

Sincerely,

Ralph

Hello Ralph, welcome to the site. This is a very common issue to have as a new player (70% of players have this issue). Take a look at this page https://www.bluesharmonica.com/faq and watch the fist video listed, "My 2 draw and/or high-end notes sounds flat, airy or not at all!"
