The bending on the chromatic is a 1/4 tone?

It can be far more than 1/4

It can be far more than 1/4 tone. I have heard as much as 3 semitones. Chromatics that have valves will give you bends that have fewer limits than diatonics, but the bends on chromatic take a unique for of finesse to control them well.
