Id like to be able to play along with some of these.  I have TABs for St Louis Blues in the key of C.  Id like to find a jam track to fit.  When I look at the web I see a few.  Most do not state what key they are in.  Others are in different keys or just make no sense for other reasons.

Is there any way to identify what key or just trial and error?  I realize I can change key using a software tool like slow downer or Anytune.

Small problem (or possibly

Small problem (or possibly not a problem): St. Louis Blues is commonly performed in G. You said your tab is in the key of C. I suspect your tab is written for second position, meaning that a C harmonica is what you need.

Bigger problem (probably what's wrong): St. Louis Blues combines a 12-bar blues with an 8- or 16-bar minor structure. Louis Armstrong's version (https://youtu.be/D2TUlUwa3_o) starts with the minor and moves to the 12-bar blues at around 0:32.  I have heard other versions (Glenn Miller) start with the blues.

Thanks for the response.  So are you staying that the TABs I have are really in Key of G second pos played on C harp?  If so,, if I find a key of G track it should work.

In your second paragraph about not being 12 bar blues, I get that.  But does that mean that the chords are not really suitable for C harp in second pos?

You're welcome. No

You're welcome. No guarantees, but C harp and G backing track are my best guess.

As for the minor, the main thing is to make sure you can identify the two sections on both your tab and the backing track. If the tab starts with the major and the backing track starts with the minor, it won't sound right.
