Hallo David,

After a few years with Seydel I would like to try Hohner again. I bought a few marine band for that. They have the slots on the side. Do you have to cup or hold them differently when playing with the Mic? Or does that not matter at all?

best regards

Thomas

Hello Thomas. The Hohner

Hello Thomas. The Hohner Marine Band is the most common harmonica used by blues harmonica players, You don't have to do anything special with them while holding.

Check out this lesson https://www.bluesharmonica.com/lessons/cupping_hand_effects

If you want a darker tone, experiment with the Two Thumbs Up approach and End-Capping approach. Another option is to use a darker mic and amp combo with this brighter harp. This is the magic combination... the tubbiness and dark sound of a dark mic and amp rig with the cut of the brighter harp... that's the killer sound.
