I bought two for 50 bucks, could you give me your opinion about this mic? Thanks.

Hi, Bloster   These are fun

Hi, Bloster

These are fun little mics and can sound very good. But the only thing that matters is YOUR opinion. Do you like the way it sounds? How about when you A/B it with other mics?

Cheers

Do tell!

Let us all know. I see mics like this in various listings, at garage sale prices. Could be fun, and at the prices being asked for, if one's a dud, that's not so bad.

how it sounds

Yes I will when they arrive, I bought them as a cheap gamble. I live in Canada so shipping will take a while.

Astatic 335H-7

2 arrived, one of them was a dud, the other in fine shape, all original with what I think is a good sound, though I am new to the Bluesharp and mics. An online owner says that the 335H-7 and the 335H are the same. Maybe Greg knows more about this.

I believe the 335H had a dynamic element, and the 335H-7 is Ceramic. However don't quote me on this - I am not 100% sure!

Your suggestion makes sense, why would the Astatic company give the same product two different names? Thanks for your updates, they are always valuable.

Not the same product - two

Not the same product - two different elements. But product naming was often fast and loose. Astatic offered JT30 with crystal and ceramic elements - but they were both known widely simply as "JT30". (There MAY have actually been some subdesignation on the label - I'mm not sure. Dennis Gruenling would know.)
