Hi Dave,

Question: Would a lesson on articulation help students learn more quickly to "play for success"?
Thanks,
gcon

Answer

Articulation is one of those subjects that doesn't merit its own lesson due to the fact that we don't use much of it and I'm able to speak about it in each lesson as its needed. Generally speaking there are two articulations used when tongue blocking... "KA" and the same closure area (the vocal folds) as the tremolo. When puckering, the "TA" is also an option. When you want consecutive notes on the same breath to be separated or you just want a little more "pop" for a passage, articulate.
